ChangelogProduct updates

What's new in LatentKit.

Routing, the console, the API, and the SDKs. Implementation detail lives in the docs.

October 2026

Independent routing inside each purpose

Purpose editors now have a selected-model list with pointer and keyboard reordering, Priority, Cost, Availability, and Balanced strategies, and independent Balanced weights. Settings publish with the route; chat/text fallback, response-profile preferences, and audio membership checks continue to apply.

September 2026

Guided setup for new workspaces

New workspaces start with a guided setup: choose a provider, connect it with your own key or Platform Access, pick models, and LatentKit publishes a route and issues your first API key with code snippets to copy. Progress comes from your real workspace, so you can leave and pick up where you stopped.

August 2026

Switch API keys and routes on or off

Turn any API key or route off from the console and its requests stop at once with a clear 403, without deleting anything. Switch it back on to resume. Both actions are recorded in the audit trail.

Durable transcription jobs and idempotent billing

Long audio gets a real async story: POST /v1/transcription/jobs now persists results that survive restarts, with tenant-scoped polling, race-safe cancellation, 72-hour retention, and HMAC-signed completion webhooks. Synchronous transcription honors Idempotency-Key: a retried upload returns the stored transcript with no second provider call and no second charge. Large files can skip request bodies entirely via audio.url signed URLs with a per-workspace domain allowlist, and multipart uploads avoid the base64 size tax.

Honest limits, honest errors

The API edge now guarantees JSON on every response: non-JSON infrastructure errors are normalized into the structured error envelope, and an external synthetic monitor checks it continuously. Concrete request limits ship in GET /v1/me so SDKs can pre-check payloads; oversized requests return structured 413s. Every 429 carries Retry-After, and NO_HEALTHY_PROVIDER now says whether to retry (transient) or fix configuration (retryable: false with a suggested action). Embeddings responses add an OpenAI-style data array alongside the native envelope.

July 2026

JavaScript SDK 0.2.2 is live on npm

The official JavaScript SDK now supports per-request cancellation and deadlines, safe custom headers, response headers and request IDs for framework adapters, first-class tool and structured-output request fields, recursive route-control protection, and clean stream cancellation. Install @latentkit/sdk@0.2.2 from npm.

Vercel AI SDK provider 0.1.0-alpha.3 is on npm

The dedicated Language Model V3 provider supports server-side text generation, streaming, function tools, structured output, usage, request metadata, cancellation, and safe request-ID errors while LatentKit keeps route and model control. Install the published npm alpha. The release includes signed provenance and a verified clean-consumer install; source is public on GitHub.

Laravel 0.1.0-alpha.1 is live on Packagist

The official Laravel package provides auto-discovery, config/latentkit.php, container bindings, the LatentKit facade, connection and route status, request-ID-aware errors, and php artisan latentkit:check. Install latentkit/laravel:0.1.0-alpha.1 with PHP SDK beta.3 from Packagist.

Drupal AI provider is public on the 1.0.x review branch

The Drupal module connects Drupal AI to one LatentKit route model, stores credentials through Drupal Key, and shows workspace, credits, ordered route models, and the latest winning provider and model. Drupal.org CI passes on the public 1.0.x branch. The security advisory coverage application is under review; no Drupal release or Composer install is available yet.

LatentKit AI Provider 0.1.0 submitted for WordPress.org review

The first directory candidate bundles PHP SDK beta.3, keeps ordered route model totals accurate, and includes recoverable WordPress AI dependency setup, the official LatentKit mark, hidden server-side credentials, external-service disclosure, support links, and a Composer-free ZIP build. It passes WordPress's official Plugin Check with no findings, and will appear in plugin search once directory review is approved.

Official SDKs share typed route context

JavaScript, Python, and PHP expose the same connection, assigned-route, ordered-model, credit, and latest-request contract, verified with one shared five-model fixture. PHP keeps its raw array API for compatibility and supplies the null-safe DTOs used by WordPress, Drupal, and Laravel. npm and PyPI releases use registry-trusted GitHub identities instead of long-lived publishing tokens.

PHP SDK beta.3 is live on Packagist

The official PHP 8.1+ SDK covers typed connection and route context, non-streaming chat, vision, embeddings, image generation, enqueue-only queue requests, normalized request-ID errors, and cURL or PSR-18 transports. Install latentkit/latentkit-php:0.1.0-beta.3 from Packagist. It stays in beta while the framework and CMS integrations finish public review.

Durable queues, safer retries, and two-person controls

Async queue jobs now run with at-least-once delivery: automatic retry of interrupted work, bounded attempts, and a dead-letter queue operators can replay. A timed-out request is never resent to the same provider, which may already have accepted it. Vision image URLs join audio URLs under fail-closed fetch security (HTTPS, approved domains, size and type caps). Managed cost accounting moved to exact micro-USD decimal math. Platform operations gained least-privilege viewer and operator roles, second-admin approval for large credit adjustments, and a test-and-approve lifecycle for new providers.

JavaScript 0.2.1, Python 0.2.1, and CLI 0.1.0 are live

The official JavaScript and Python SDKs provide route-aware clients for the /v1 API. @latentkit/cli adds browser login, local profiles, runtime smoke tests, logs, traces, route inspection, key management, config checks, and CI validation from the terminal.
